Spatial Experiments
This experiment looks at collective memory, and aimed to create a space of tension and holding, cutting away to catharsis and release.
A group of people were asked to identify an emotionally evocative feeling, memory, or thought, and write it in a word or phrase on a piece of paper. They were then given a spool of red yarn and instructed to spell out that word or phrase. Using lettered hooks installed in the wall, there was quickly a vibrant web of collective thought hung in the space.
